'Bunch of me

you know..just a bunch + I'm finally into blogger

Imagine a world without the internet; imagine if instead of countless ports, servers, SSH terminals,  optical drives or storage facilities, the internet  was build on steady/hard ground with concrete, cement and a versatile neighborhood. What would that neighborhood look like then? Irony.com posted a cute visualization of this fictitious city...where google, yahoo, msn, wikipedia, myspace, youtube and other big shots of the WWW are pictured as huge skyscraping monoliths and as usually the lower middle class corps like about.com or so called "adsense scraper" sites (like mine) are situated in the lower middle-class ghetto area.

Don't worry...the scums and thugs of the society have a place in this utopian metropolitan too. They are termed as "Spam" and dumped in the garbage dump. The things is...this dump seems to be overflowing with all that jazz  :) How ruthlessly true indeed

  1. I think that's wrong....

It shouldn't say "spam". It should say "spammers". ;)

  2. Thanks for that delightful insight into the pictures faux-vagueness, Marc ;) Now would you be a gem and tell the readers the difference between framing spammers in place of spams? Aren't they two sides of the same dime?

Anyhow, I'm flattered that unix admins like you are commenting on my posts...and I though, I had scored a major breakthrough when I triple booted my pc with kubuntu,xp and Win 98 :D

  3. Well, there's a lot of blame that need to be addresses (pun intended) when talking about spam. You can't really apply that guilt to the spam itself, only the spammers. The spam is trash and deserves to trash heap, but we can't blame the spam for it's existence, only the spammers. Well, I take that back. We can also blame the nimrods that actually click on the spam links...

Now, if we're to compare systems, I'm a Mac user...so.....

  7. hmm... this is indeed an interesting picturization of the WWW and it is totally true.

remember the hustle we had to go through for the kapani domain. man, this is getting so bad. sometimes just think there should be a reset button for the internet.

push the button and start from fresh.

but sad, that won't be true and we will always have spam... these days i get a spam every 30 min i guess. but thanks to Gmails über cool spam protection...

  9. Heh.. I'll buy that, ehab. But those two subliminal spam comments didn't trick my gaze :) I let them stay there for two reasons, one the spammer must have him/herself entered those spam words and then filled the CAPTCHA field with their own two hands...two, its kind of a reverse satire to talk about the horrors of spam, and then receive some yourself, LOL..
